SHIKARI/ LOUISE CYPHRE - split (CRUCIFICADOS PELO SISTEMA) - 8.5e, 500 den.
both bands have a unique and distinct approach to aggressive screamy hardcore .. shikari take parts from older bands as rorschach or acme and mix them up with modern screamy hc .. louise cyphre plays technical emoviolence in the vein of bands like uranus orchid and usurp synapse and craft songs that are 10 x's better .. the packaging features an intense 9inch x 27inch triptych designed and illustrated by myles karr an up and coming tattoo artist from the bowels of brooklyn .. both bands recorded at the infamous kuschelrock studio in bremen

EL BUZZARD - "tranquilizante del elefante" (EHP) - 10e, 600 den.
"the latest rumblings felt in california, crushing homes and sending school children under their desks is not another west coast earthquake. its the devestation coming from the amps of el buzzard! featuring ex members of californian legends mohinder and duster, el buzzard blare out monsterous riffs and a 'fuck this shit' attitude, building some of the most cataclysmic and lumbering sounds heard since the hay day of the melvins. this six song release, with the befitting title of tranquilizante del elefante (elephant tranquilizer) is a follow up to the bands self released, self titled cd which recieved praise from publications such as alternative press magazine. el buzzard pound their instruments into submission, every once in a while allowing them to spew out a contorted jesus lizard or orange goblin inspired sound, layered in impurity. one listen and you will be done."

crust with SPIDER/ AMEBIX
PERTH EXPRESS - s/t (CRUCIFICADOS PELO SISTEMA) - 10e, 600 den.
if you can imagine a mix of bands as his hero is gone or tragedy as well bulldozercore ala coalesce or botch then you would not be too far off in what way perth express sounds .. take a few scandicrust tunes add a good dose of chaos and mix them with subliminal melodies .. it is a brutal soundblast from the start to the end .. recordings were made by kusche at the the famous kuschelrockstudios in bremen .. wellknown for bands as acme systral or moerser .. the killer artwork was drawn by rose .. packaging and vinyl are a feast for the eyes .. this is just a totally punishing hardcore record in every respect
SHERMER/ THE MACHINES WILL TAKE OVER - split (self-released) - 5e, 300 den.

ALLEE DER KOSMONAUTEN - "kino sojus" (ABSURD CREATURE) - 11e, 670 den.
"After years of silence Berlin´s ALLEE DER KOSMONAUTEN deliever their 2nd full-length release "kino sojus". Yet again you´ll get an agitated immensity in explosive velocity. Pieces of dark fused hits metallic and post-rock influences in an expansively loud combination of darkness. Male and female vocals trade off hope, despair, condemnation and resistance. An incredible evolution of the band ALLEE DER KOSMONAUTEN."
AMEBIX - "arise plus two" LP + 7" (ALTERNATIVE TENTACLES) - 15e, 900 den.
Arise! Plus Two contains the original 9 songs from the out of print Arise! plus 2 songs that were previously never released. For fans of Naked City, Mr. Bungle and the Boredoms.
ANCHOR - "the quiet dance" (REFUSE) - 10e, 600 den.
Hailing from the metal and hardcore hotbed of Sweden, Anchor bring a heavy, aggressive hardcore sound with howled vocals and devastating mosh parts, but not without its speed and urgency, taking cues from bands like Trial, Judge, Strife and Have Heart. Members have done time in Damage Control and Set My Path, and their message is one of compassion and awareness, as the band follows the vegan straight edge lifestyle.
ANODYNE - "a lifetime of grey skies" (LEVEL PLANE) - 7.5e, 450 den.
Fusing the energetic punk attack of BLACK FLAG with the ferocious metal delivery of EMPEROR and the dismal perspectives of JOY DIVISION, ANODYNE stands out as one of the most original heavy acts today.
ARMY OF FLYING ROBOTS - "life is cheap" (FEAST OF TENTACLES) - 8.5e, 500 den.
Debut full length by a UK band that has been active for the last decade, and that's a long ass time in this mad world called hard fucking core. Epic moody build ups, raspy growled vokillz and a sweet production all lend to the menacing yet melodic feel of AOFR. Relevant well written and thought out socio-political lyrics that don't come off as preachy regurgitated shit, add to the full delivery, is this music for the thinkers? Perhaps, or maybe it's music that will just get all the lazy assed apathetic punx thinking? Who knows, take it how ya like, all I know is that AOFR bring to mind bands like Orchid, Die Kreuzen, Palatka, Rorschach, Uranus and Swans.
ATKA/ SHIMETSU - split (CRUCIFICADOS PELO SISTEMA) - 11e, 670 den.
finally this long awaited split lp is coming out .. two of the best german grind bands nowadays team up for this awesome split .. atka deliver 7 fantastic grind tracks .. pure intensity assails the listener .. the sheer level of invention is overwhelming appeals to fans of discordance axis, swarrrm or pig destroyer .. shimetsu give 10 tracks of state of the art deathgrind .. they play faster and more complex than they are actually capable of what leads to a musical outcome that might be described as far too much in a far too little while, obvious musical influences are bands such as suffocation, gorguts, crowpath, discordance axis or pig destroyer .. comes in beautiful designed jackets with a nice glossy cover printing .. limited to 500 copies
AWAKENING, THE - "eternal blizzard" (SOLAR FUNERAL) - 8.5e, 500 den.
For those of you that remember this band, THE AWAKENING lasted for a short, two+ years (2000 - 2002), and played nearly 90 shows. This record has 16 songs, total. Influenced by mid 90s Japanese / Scandanavian hardcore and 80s speed metal, this includes the final feast 7", the burning wind 7", the VIRGINIA BLACK LUNG sea of steel 7", and 6 unreleased songs from the final recording. All of the songs were recorded on 2" analog tape at Mars Studios.

BELLE EPOQUE - s/t (FOREVER ESCAPING BOREDOM) - 7.5e, 450 den.
french emo
BLACK CRUCIFIXION - "promethean gift" (SOUL SELLER) - 12e, 720 den.
The album sounds like BATHORY, CELTIC FROST, SAMAEL, BEHERIT ("Drawing Down The Moon"), TIAMAT (in the early days) and NECROMANTIA. Deep vocals that in some points reminded me of Johan Edlund?s voice at the masterpiece called "Clouds", heavy doom-ish riffs and dark atmosphere. It is a mid tempo album with some outbursts especially by the drums. Here we are dealing with eight tracks that stood the test of time more than well. Of course the sound of the two demo songs doesn?t have the quality of the first five, but conveys a truly dark atmosphere.
BLANK STARE - s/t (REFUSE) - 10e, 600 den.
BLANK STARE is a powerful straight-edge hardcore band from Boston. Their new MLP on Refuse Records contains 10 ripping songs with great thought-provoking lyrics. Leading with strong and angry pissed off vocals. Sounds like early, raw unpolished YOUTH OF TODAY mixed with the dirty guitars from POISON IDEA and of course with a huge hint of classic '80s Boston hardcore. If you like newer stuff like CUT THE SHIT, HAYMAKER or DEAD NATION this is a must have for you!
BOMBENALARM - "no mistakes" (UNSOCIABLE) - 10e
Unsociable Records (Germany) / No Option Records (USA)
Bombenalarm play hc/punk with diverse influences, a lot of power, outstanding vocals, and raging guitar leads. This is their second full length, which encompasses the power they have as a band with precision and depth more fully than any of their previous releases. Awesome recording and great artwork by these German punx. 11 tracks destined for glory, and many circle pits.
BREATHING FIRE - "years of lead" (PAINKILLER) - 12e, 720 den.
In 2004 Breathing Fire quietly laid down one of the most impressive demos in our recent collective memories, following which, they promptly disappeared. In 2007 the band reconvened to unearth the remains of some unused songs and attempt some new ones, thus beginning a brief but fruitful reconnection between the members that produced this album. Years Of Lead takes the framework of their demo and pushes everything much further. The recording is dirtier and much more harsh, the slow sections more ominous, the fast sections more head spinning. Influenced by early power violence, harsh and dark hardcore, classic sludge, and hazy doom standards, but Years of Lead speaks its own language. Comes housed in a full color old style tip-on style jacket.
BURMESE - "monkeys tear man to shreds" (ENTERRUPTION) - 12e, 720 den.
Completely raw and annihilation brutal dual damaged bass and drums attack from the infamous Burmese, club destroyers extraordinaire. Recorded in 2000 at their rehearsal space in Oakland on 8 track reel-to-reel by wm.Rage (Enterruption, Blue Sabbath Black Cheer), not long before they recorded their debut CD release for Tumult Records: same material, different recordings. Also includes from the same session their BLISTERING cover version of Black Flag's "I've Heard It Before". awesome packaging, limited to 500
BURMESE/ POTOP - split (FUCK YOGA, CRUCIFICADOS PELO SISTEMA) - 10e
BURMESE offer 8 ugly tracks of noise; ranging from damaged rock to primitive grind bursts, sadistic power electronics and cold, haunting drones; a claustrophobic amalgamation of frequencies akin to MAN IS THE BASTARD, BRAINBOMBS and WHITEHOUSE.
tectonic grooves, blackened guitars and hellish screams make for POTOP's side. primitive and crippled doom metal, been compared to BURNING WITCH, KHANATE and power violence without the fast parts. heavy stuff for real.
17 minutes from each band//pressing of 500 hand numbered copies//comes inside a black dj sleeve//2 sided screen-printed covers on heavy 700 gr. paper//obi strip and insert.
BURST UP/ THRASH BRIGADE - split (STRESS TO DEATH) - 6.5e, 400 den.
milan's fastcore maniacs vs palermo's power violence worshippers
BURIAL YEAR - "pestilence" (ADAGIO830) - 5e, 300 den.
Driven by the same ravenous hate and bloodthirsty brutality of Discordance Axis and Assuck, Burial Year are paving a new path straight through the filthy depths of today's decaying hardcore and metal compost pile. Pestilence is the most challenging and technical album Burial Year's members have released to date, featuring a rhythmic heavy foundation, complex metallic riffing, and politically charged words. Burial Year is a combination of hardcore mentality and metal brutality. "Pestilence" will surely please the ears of even the most X'ed up and beer soaked Reebok high top wearing thrasher.
CANCER SPREADING/ DISKONTROL - split (DIY CONSPIRACY) - 11e, 670 den.
heavy crust/stench/d-beat from italy/ brazil

emo hardcore ala La Quiete, Envy, and Raein
CEPHALIC CARNAGE - "conforming to abnormality" (EMETIC) - 10e, 600 den.
original press, not on RELAPSE! Conforming to Abnormality unveiled a style of extreme metal that was completely unique in its makeup: blending mind-melting guitar technicality with inhuman drumming, a wildly schizophrenic vocal attack, smatterings of jazz sensibilities and devastating sub-bass blasts.
CEREBRAL TURBULENCY - "impenetrable" (INSANE SOCIETY) - 6e, 360 den.
"Third full length Cd album from these Czech girnders! 26 totally fast brutal blast-core grind tunes with guttural vocals. CT music is definetly inspired by Nasum and Napalm Death type grind. Czech leaders of grind scene along with Ingrowing, Negligent Collateral Collapse, Gride, Malignant Tumour, and Alienation Metal." (Violence Zine #4)
COLERA - "alguien..." (DIY CONSPIRACY) - 3.5e, 200 den.
political hardcore punk rock
CONTRAST ATTITUDE - "apocalyptic raw assault" (AGIPUNK) - 11e, 670 den.
Apocalyptic raw punx wall of noise from Japan! This is the most distorted record of the year, for fans of Confuse, Disorder and Disclose, but expect a more brutal and fat sound.
CRASS - "christ the album" 2xLP (CRASS) - 18, 1100 den.
CRAW - "bodies for strontium 90" (HYDRAHEAD) - 8.5e, 500 den.
The sound of Cleveland's Craw, like that of so many other veteran underground acts, has shifted with each successive release due to personnel changes. On Bodies for Strontium 90, the band debuts a quartet lineup, recording for the first time without founding member David McClelland on guitar. One of McClelland's roles in the band was to paint swirling effects and colors over the band's airtight math-metal song structures. With his contributions gone, Craw's songs still provide an awesome kick, but lack the space and texture that made its first two records, Craw and Lost Nation Road, genuine classics of heavy underground rock in the '90s. A characteristic track on Bodies for Strontium 90 is "Chop Shop," a pummeling, stop-start rocker over which vocalist Joe McTighe plays the part of a sleazy fat cat who contacts a "Chinese body shoppe" to replace his "pickled" liver and "fried" kidneys. These lyrical snippets should convey that Craw is no ordinary band; the dizzyingly complicated riffs (translated to perfection by drummer Will Scharf, also of the excellent Keelhaul) and completely bizarre lyrics should be experienced by anyone who finds mainstream metal too cheesy or mainstream rock too disaffected. ~ Henry Shteamer, All Music Guide
CRIME DESIRE - s/t (LIFE IS RAPE) - 12e, 720 den.
Take the slow songs off classic '80s hardcore records, mix with the doom and gloom of early goth, throw in heavy doses of Samhain and even a hint of Integrity, then watch too many cult exploitation movies and top the whole mess off with bleak misanthropic and satanic lyrical themes and you might come up with something that sounds a bit like Crime Desire's latest outing. The new LP is an unrepentantly midpaced, plodding, dark hardcore record with huge production and the attention to great packaging and design you've come to expect from a Crime Desire record.
CZOZNEK -" Illegal pornography with abuse of children, animals and plants" (NNNW) - 3.5e, 200 den.
DAMAGE DIGITAL - "moss" (MVC) - 11e, 650 den.
japanese thrashy grindcore ala 324/DxAx, very recommended (sold out from the label)
DANSE MACABRE - "synkopenleben..." (REACT WITH PROTEST) -7.5e, 450 den.
A huge step for these guys in comparison to the earlier stuff! Great layout, production and well written songs. DANSE MACABRE deliver screamy chaotic hardcore with a lot of power and moody parts, it reminds me of some bands in this genre which have been around a couple of years ago, but they still manage to create something all their own. Comes with a foldout nice booklet/poster with lyrics and explanations!
DAZD - s/t (FUCK YOGA + friends) - 10e, 600 den.
Existing in different shapes, DAZD (Belgrade, Serbia) have been crafting their rituals under the sign of libertarian mystic forces for almost 15 years.
A product of alchemy; ingredients included are earth power, surrealism, horror, crusty thrash and heavy doom not unlike AMEBIX, PENTAGRAM, GISM and HELLHAMMER.
Artwork courtesy of Jason Barnett. Vinyl limited to 400 black and 100 white copies.
DEAD RADICAL/ SIDETRACKED split (16OH) - 8.5e, 500 den.
DEAN DIRG - "four succesive blasts" (PRUGELPRINZ) - 10e, 600 den.
We sent out our hunch-backed assistant Ygor one night to dig out this record again which originally saw the light of day on SIX FEET UNDER REC. Our scientists enlarged the already sightly 10" body, consisting of the out-of-print "Chimpanzee" 7" and the split 7"s with HENRY FIATS OPEN SORE and BOMBENALARM, by two good inches and attached the "What's new?" 7" in a successful surgical intervention in our laboratories. The result is a 20-songs strong monster of a record that also got a facelift and a more colorful new jacket. Set out to destroy, this Punkrock killing machine will blow your roof!
DESPISE YOU - "west side horizons" (FUCK YOGA) - 10e, 600 den.
62 Songs of complete power violence, from Inglewood, CA. They were one of the best ultrafast, uncompromising power violence units during the mid-’90’s. Compiling their various splits, comp tracks and the sixteen otherwise unreleased numbers kindly compiled by Pessimiser for the original CD release. The result is a barrage of bleak-as-fuck, metal-tinged powerviolence that’s heavy, thick-necked and cruel as all hell, each violent outburst neatly condensed into short, emetic bouts of soul-flattening rage that manage to be both inventive and memorable despite their vicious brevity.
vinyl release limited to 500 copies; comes with a gatefold cover, including a lyric sheet (previously unavailable)
DISARM - "mustard gas" (STRESS TO DEATH) - 5e, 300 den.
Hitting the scene since 1996, italian power(metal)violence at its full length-debut after 5 split 7”’s. Lyrics are an historical excursus about the use of the so called mustard gas since WWI. Featuring Borys/Agipunk-Giuda. Limited edition 500 copies!!
DOOM - "lost the fight/ pro-life control sessions" (AGIPUNK) - 11.5e, 700 den.
Anyone with an Aus Rotten patch on their hat or purchaser of anything on Profane Existence remembers Doom, who flew the flag for metallic crust for most of the '90s. This is the first volume of a Doom reissue series featuring the four tracks from the split 7" with Hiatus in 1993 and the tracks from 1994's split LP with Selfish.
DROWN IN BLOOD - s/t (IfMH) - 8.5e, 500 den.
Here it is! The debut-album of DROWN IN BLOOD! The Metal-Punks from Hamburg did their first vinyl-release. Until now they only did a sold-out demotape and some compilation tracks. And they played a lot of concerts during the last years. The band exists since 2003 and has a political background. At the beginning they played death metal with crust influences. But now they developed more into metal with melodic parts in the vein of Bolt Thrower. But there are still unmistakable elements of crust, punk, HC and grind in the bandsound. The bandmembers play in some other bands like Instinct Of Survival.
DRUNKDRIVER - "born pregnant" (PARTS UNKNOWN) - 12e, 720 den.
damaged punk/noise ala DRUNKS WITH GUNS, FLIPPER
DRY ROT - "philistine" (PARTS UNKNOWN) - 12e, 720 den.
Ventura, CA locals Dry-Rot have been bringing their own brand of Void and "Cows And Beer"-era Die Kreuzen sound to hardcore with a multitude of EPs, but remaining somewhat of a mystery.
EMPTY SILOS ECHO WAR - "semantics" (ROKLOK) - 5e, 300 den.
The full length vinyl companion piece to the "Mechanics" CD is a sonic exploration in lingering melodies, textural soundscapes and the extrapolation of minimalistic song structures. For fans of godspeed! you black emperor! Awesome hand screened covers in variety of different colors.
EASPA MEASA/ SILENCE - split (DIY CONSPIRACY) - 5e, 300 den.
Silence is a heavy and dark hardcore punk with depressive and at times angry lyrics. These lads were influenced by the likes of Madame Germen, From Ashes Rise or His Hero is Gone. Easpa Measa play dark melodic crust with female/male vocals influenced by Jobbycrust and Thin Lizzy Lyrically they do not avoid difficult social issues and do not forget where they are coming from.
EU'S ARSE "discography 1981-1985" (AGIPUNK) - 10e, 600 den.

FANGS OF A TV EVANGELIST - s/t (WHAT WE DO IS SECRET) - 12e, 720 den.
amazing twisted noise rock, for fans of MELVINS and HARVEY MILK, screened covers and limited to 300 copies
FORENSICS - "hogback mountain sessions Vol.1" (TUNED TO YOU) - 8.5e, 500 den.
The Hogback Mountain Sessions are impromptu gatherings of members of Forensics and various friends/guests for the sole purpose of improvised studio experimentation and composition. Results of the gatherings are documented in limited edition CD's (all on Magic Bullet) and 12" format (on different labels with each session). The first installment of this ongoing series, Vol. 1 finds the musicians laying down 4 tracks/23 minutes of dark and chilling passages atop subharmonic and drone elements that prove far more listenable and melodious than grating or monotonous. ! Moving and sober, the maiden voyage of the Hogback Mountain Sessions is but a tease of what is to come from 2005's most ambitious band.
FUBAR - "justification of criminal behavious" (TVG) - 5e, 300 den.
Fastcore, grindcore, power violence, hardcore all the same to me and definitely all the same to this Dutch hardcore bands. Mash all those styles into one battering ram piece of orange wax and you have 21 mallets to the head, bathed in down-tuned mud. The bass sounds like tanks rolling into town, he guitars echo fighter jets dropping their wares on the population below. Two vocalists battle it out for Throat-Coat supremacy, with one a deep grindcore growler and the other sounding like Pat Dubar of all things. This really reminds me of insuld sometimes, but where that band reveled in bitter humor. Fubar portray a world strangled by fear and hypnotized by war.
GIUDA - "decadenza" (AGIPUNK) - 10e, 600 den.
Heavy and metallic crust in the tradition of the old UK masters like Hellbastard and Antisect. This record is much heavier and more metallic than their last LP which had more of a Discharge meets crust vibe. Some of the songs even veer into the Bolt Thrower or Axegrinder realm of serious apocalyptic crust.
GODFLESH - s/t (KREATION) - 13e, 800 den.
"If Black Sabbath was reborn as an industrial rock band, they'd probably sound an awful lot like Godflesh. Therefore, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that Godflesh hails from the same hometown as Sabbath, the tough steel-welding town of Birmingham, England. Although a few other members passed through the Godflesh ranks over the years, the band's undisputed leader was guitarist/singer Justin Broadrick, who was present since the group's inception. Broadrick was influenced early on by heavy metal, as well as such experimental groups as Can (and Lou Reed's 1975 noisefest, Metal Machine Music)."
GODFLESH - "streetcleaner" (KREATION) - 13e, 800 den.
"Streetcleaner featured some of the heaviest, bludgeoning tones ever put to tape. It punishes you with Justin's apocalyptical musical vision. Many of the tracks are long, droned out numbers. Definitely not for the faint of heart."
GODSTOMPER/ BIZARRE X - split (TVG) - 5e, 300 den.
Can you say "Power Violence" kids? xGodstomperx are classic styled west coast violent mayhem w/lots of samples and hellish funeral sounds. BX from Germany and whip it up in a more European way. This vinyl shreds. The funny thing is that both bands only use drum'n'bass, but still manage to sound different.
GRAF ORLOCK/ GREYSKULL - split (DOOD RECORDS) - 7.5e, 450 den.
Graf Orlock and Greyskull bring you a ridiculous combination of brutality and creativity in this split 12 inch LP, DVDs vs. Books.Graf Orlock pushes the boundaries of the burgeoning cinema-grind genre, imploding with 7 songs of anger and abuse confronting themes of inter-planetary colonialism and psychotic delusion. Greyskull emerges as an incredibly pissed and informed book that you can't put down. Contained in an amazing backpack suitable for any school, church, or funeral event.
GRAVES AT SEA - "documents of grief" picture disc (KREATION) - 13e, 800 den.
"Originally released in 2003, this four song EP is a good introduction to a doom 'n' sludge band that's been making a name for itself with an intense live show that backs up the evil gruel they call music. Documents of Grief is a collection of cancerous dirges, a slow-moving and corrosive hate fucking for the ears. That sort of dismal noise is ok for some, but I prefer a little more depth and some sort of hook to get me more involved. "Red Monarch" and "Praise the Witch" offer just that, with the former's almost psychedelic guitar leads and the latter's bad mushroom trip groove. Just when you think you can't take any more of it, they loosen up just enough, and then drag you back down into their dank, dark hell."
HANGING ROTTEN - "your cheatin heart" (PFC) - 7.5e, 450 den.
Imagine the heavy and sludgy riffs of Seven Foot Spleen or Eye Hate God and add some blast beats to it and you get a good picture of how Hanging Rotten sounds.
HATRED SURGE - "deconstruct" (RSR) - 12e, 720 den.
Texas grindmasters Hatred Surge cough up another heavy-hitting record 17-tracks deep with members of Mammoth Grinder in tow. Trading off male and female vocals, they blaze at unrelenting speed, demonstrating blast-beat precision and guitar-shredding destruction.
HAYMAKER - "demo" (RSR) - 12, 720 den.
The hard to find demo of Canadian destroyers Haymaker has finally been released on vinyl. It has all the right ingredients to create a brutal, raw and fucked up sound! Actually, it sounds more pissed off than you can probably imagine. No fancy break down crap or crappy ass moshparts were used in the making of this sonic brutality. These 12 songs (incl. a Reagan Youth cover) will make you jump up and smash your furniture and everything that comes on your path. Members of Haymaker used to play in bands such as Chokehold, The Swarm, Left for Dead and Cursed. Haymaker once again proves that the most brutal bands come only from Canada and not the US! 500 copies only!
HELLBASTARD - "ripper crust" (AGIPUNK) - 11e, 670 den.
Originally released in 1986 as a demo-tape, all the songs are here digitally remastered to sound powerful than ever and to blow away all the poor-quality bootlegs around. This is true metal/punk crossover, totally influential! Lp comes with silver screened cover, "remastered" original artworks, 4 pages inner sheet and big poster.
ICOS - "fragments of sirens" (ALERTA ANTIFASCISTA) - 12e, 720 den.
ICOS - "walk with me" (ALERTA ANTIFASCISTA) - 9e, 550 den.

MOTORHEAD-style punkrock
INSECT WARFARE - "noise grind power death" (625) - 10e, 600 den.
noisecore, their best material, FIRST PRESS!
INSTINCT OF SURVIVAL - "north of nowhere" LP (BOLZKOW) - 11e, 670 den.
I’d heard the advance tracks, but nothing prepared me for this: nine hymns of misanthropic nihilism, unmatched in the present landscape of underground music. I would have no qualms in saying that this in the best European crust record of the decade. It’s got the brutal-as-fuck atmosphere of the early Death Metal ala Autopsy, Entombed or Death, crossed with the aggressive fuck-off riffing of Deviated Instinct, Sepultura or Hellbastard and the miserable, chained to oblivion sound aesthetics of Amebix and Axegrinder. With riffs that nearly fucking snap your neck and a guitar sound both blunt and bludgeoning, simultaneously raw and cutting, the axe is at the forefront of these songs. The vocals are snarls of loathsome desperation, the production simply immaculate. The drumming is martial and pounding, adding depth and contour to what are essential simple Thrash riffs, yet the key to this is simplicity in execution and complexity in structure and composition. The self titled track is unlike anything I’ve heard in crust for years, whilst the venomous barbarity and razor-sharp guitars of ‘Human?’ and ‘Suffocation’ are simply incredible. Fucking monolithic: get this now 5/5 Cormac O’Siochain (Review from Zero Tolerance July/Aug‘09)
ISCARIOTE - "necropol trauma" (???) - 7.5e, 450 den.
the unholy mayhem from switzerland comes with a brand new full length, still producing a satanic mix of hardcore, metal and sludge, adding some new hints of dark and intense melodic elements
ISKRA/ AGAINST EMPIRE - split (MANGLED ANKLE) - 8.5e, 500 den.
The latest release from this pair of west coast anarcho-punk bands with a uniquely 21st century sound: AGAINST EMPIRE are from Los Angeles and play powerful crustcore with strong thrash metal influences, while ISKRA (ex-BLACK KRONSTADT) are from Victoria, BC and hide classic peacepunk riffs in their black metal / crust punk crossover. Both bands have strong anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist messages and rail against the corruption, hate, greed and murder they create.
KARMA TO BURN - "wild wonderful purgatory" (EMETIC) - 13e, 800 den.
While the term stoner rock is widely used, it can be a limiting one. For one thing, to many people it means that the music can only be appreciated by those who have partaken in the smoking of an illegal substance. That is simply not true of the genre in general, or this album in particular. Indeed, with the group's leaning on a combination of Black Sabbath-esque textures and a spacy jam-type meandering, the label does fit. However, they transcend it as well. Karma to Burn's Wild Wonderful Purgatory can perhaps be seen more accurately as a modern take on the power trio approach of such groups as the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, and Rush. With the spacy, almost psychedelic and experimental nature present, perhaps the first two fit better. However, the hard-edged metallic fury calls to mind more closely Rush's debut. These guys have such a great skill at creating dynamic melodies that you never really seem to notice that they have opted to forego the vocals altogether on this second release. This one is a great time, whether you are stoned or not. (first press?)

KILLED BY MALAISE - "20.01.03" (clear) (MEUDIADEMORTE) - 7.5e, 450 den.
emo hardcore
KISS THE ANUS OF A BLACK CAT - "the nebulous dreams" (CONSPIRACY) - 11e, 670 den.
Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat has always been utterly fascinated with primitive savagery and heathen tactics. On this third full length endeavor, they explore and recast their horror-filled doom theme in the light of current debates on modernity and globalization. Minimalist instrumentation and hypnotic ultra dramatic vocals are wrapped in equal parts doom ridden heresy, the percussion is stripped down off hazy emotions and stretched into a pure vessel of magical strength, where a muted buzz deliberately enforces mental overload. A divine doom folk/rock cloud that shares apocalyptic interests with such visionaries as Current 93, Woven Hand, Richard Youngs, Comus and other uplifting pagan psych-folk.
KYKLOOPPIEN SUKUPUUTTO - s/t (HATE) - 8.5e, 500 den.
"First long play whoaa! 1000 pressed with embossed covers and neat lyricsheet. 12 songs in 27:50 time is something what was not expected.Songwriting is topnotch and succeed to be multifaceted without being too complicated or boring, and still keeping up the flames of urge siege of angry hardcorepunk itself."

grindcore

POOSTEW - "struggle" (SHOVE) - 5e, 300 den.
POLLUTION - "nasty dna" (FEAST OF TENTACLES) - 12e, 720 den.
Pollution are a raw hardcore outfit featuring members of Unearthly Trance. Their debut album entitled "Nasty.DNA" was previously only available on CDr format, but Feast Of Tentacles stepped up and released this ugly sucker on vinyl as well. Pollution are a harsh, raw, dissonant hardcore outfit with some AmRep influences who remind me of classics such as Born Against and Rorscach. If you like your hardcore clean and buff, this won't do the trick for you.
RACEBANNON/ SONGS OF ZARATHUSTRA - split (LEVEL PLANE) - 7.5e, 450 den.
Racebannon continues to push the boundaries of form and structure with their four tracks collected here. Electronically altered soundscapes are interspersed amongst frantic bursts of more traditional song structures, featuring vocalist Mike Anderson’s typically snotty delivery; enigmatic music illustrating an enigmatic age. Song of Zarathustra come correct with a little bit more of a straightforward approach, infusing their chaotic hardcore assault with more elements of rock, recalling a Blood Brothers free of posturing and inundated with guitar and keyboard attacks.
