I have heard for a long time. Sametime, Santantonio play italian '80

sound with lyrics about personal revolution. |

 |
PERTH EXPRESS - s/t (CRUCIFICADOS PELO SISTEMA)
- 10e, 600 den.
if you can imagine a mix of bands as his hero is gone or tragedy as
well bulldozercore ala coalesce or botch then you would not be too
far off in what way perth express sounds .. take a few scandicrust
tunes add a good dose of chaos and mix them with subliminal melodies
.. it is a brutal soundblast from the start to the end .. recordings
were made by kusche at the the famous kuschelrockstudios in bremen
.. wellknown for bands as acme systral or moerser .. the killer artwork
was drawn by rose .. packaging and vinyl are a feast for the eyes
.. this is just a totally punishing hardcore record in every respect
|
|

|
16 - "zoloft smile"

few tinges of what the kids might like to call "stoner rock" |
|
A FINE BOAT, THAT COFFIN
- s/t (REACT WITH PROTEST) - 9e, 550 den.
totally raging anarchist jazz-grind meets chaotic hardcore from germany;
the debut full length. produced at bremenskuschelrock studios (shikari/louise
cyphre). ex calling gina clark. |
 |
ALDEBARAN - "dwellers in twilight"
(BLIND DATE) - 10e, 600 den.
"Aldebaran's approach to the sludge aesthetic is... epic
and similar to how Sleep, Yob and Buried at Sea perceive "heavy.”
Aldebaran build hypnotic dirges with their thick riffs, pounding away
and carrying each song, then out of nowhere a sinisterly planted change
throws the piece into a whole new direction, creating more opportunities
for them to kill you off." |
|
ALLEE DER KOSMONAUTEN
- s/t (UNSOCIABLE) - 9e, 500 den.
Four long and slow songs of dark, depressive hardcore. Monumental
and heavy, but at the same time pulsing with energy, with harsh
female vocal. For fans of ISIS, Neurosis etc. |
|
ANALENA - "carbon based"
(MOONLEE) - 9e, 550 den.
In the case of ANALENA, one man's hardcore is another man's noise
is another man's punk. Diverse but steady, from bittersweet melodies
and blistering hooks to pummeling and aggressive rhythms, ANALENA
covers all the bases. Carbon Based is their's second album, recorded
and produced at Kozmo studio, Zagreb, by the members of the band themselves,
with the noteworthy assistance provided by members of Lunar, another
remarkable and friendly band from Zagreb. Carbon Based is a statement
by a smart and mature band, an honest expression of determination
and passion in full force. ANALENA follows its own instinct by merging
charming melodies with intricate and shimmering rhythmic relentlessness.
Stunning and flawless instrumentation combined with witty and poetic
slogan-free lyrics takes care of the rest. See you in the pit or see
you with your headphones on. You are invited. Until then, as the band
itself proclaims in the moving Work In Progress: "Stay alert!" |
 |
ANGELIC PROCESS - "weighing souls with
sand" dbl LP (ROADBURN) - 18e
picture the wall-of-sound through the fuzzy celestial grace of MY
BLOODY VALENTINE, the tribal ritualistic pulsations of NEUROSIS, the
emotional fervor and bloodletting of SWANS (i.e. the greatest band
of all time, pretty much), and the powerful grace of JESU, and here
you’ll get a glimpse of what The Angelic Process shall offer.
And then some… |
|
ANODYNE - "a lifetime
of grey skies" (LEVEL PLANE) - 10e, 600 den.
Fusing the energetic punk attack of BLACK FLAG with the ferocious
metal delivery of EMPEROR and the dismal perspectives of JOY DIVISION,
ANODYNE stands out as one of the most original heavy acts today. |
 |
ARMY OF FLYING ROBOTS - "life is cheap"
(FEAST OF TENTACLES) - 10e
Debut full length by a UK band that has been active for the last decade,
and that's a long ass time in this mad world called hard fucking core.
Epic moody build ups, raspy growled vokillz and a sweet production
all lend to the menacing yet melodic feel of AOFR. Relevant well written
and thought out socio-political lyrics that don't come off as preachy
regurgitated shit, add to the full delivery, is this music for the
thinkers? Perhaps, or maybe it's music that will just get all the
lazy assed apathetic punx thinking? Who knows, take it how ya like,
all I know is that AOFR bring to mind bands like Orchid, Die Kreuzen,
Palatka, Rorschach, Uranus and Swans. |
|
AWAKENING, THE - "eternal
blizzard" (SOLAR FUNERAL) - 10e, 600 den.
For those of you that remember this band, THE AWAKENING lasted
for a short, two+ years (2000 - 2002), and played nearly 90 shows.
This record has 16 songs, total. Influenced by mid 90s Japanese /
Scandanavian hardcore and 80s speed metal, this includes the final
feast 7", the burning wind 7", the VIRGINIA BLACK LUNG sea
of steel 7", and 6 unreleased songs from the final recording.
All of the songs were recorded on 2" analog tape at Mars Studios.

|
B-ABUSE - "misery is
the rythm of the world" (IMPURE MUZIK) - 9e, 550 den.

and even mid 90ies emo touch |
 |

 |
BACKSTABBERS INC. "kamikaze missions"
(YELLOW DOG) - 10e
Intense hardcore from Massachusetts in the vein of Tragedy, From Ashes
Rise, etc. but with a more chaotic and grinding feel to it. |
|
BALLAST - "sound asleep"
(PROFANE EXISTENCE) - 9e, 550 den.
Ten songs of the most intense punk rock ever to be released in the
15+ year history of Profane Existence Records, the debut LP from Montreal's
Ballast is destined to became a classic of our age. The music is an
urgent mix of hardcore, crust, and classic peace-punk influences,
with the songs being lengthy and very-well structured. The most striking
element of their sound are the female-fronted vocal delivery, which
is powerful, yet melodic and emotive too, and harmonizes wickedly
with the more gruff, male backing vocals. If you need a reference
for comparison, imagine the Lost World meets Tragedy! This band has
previously self-released an awesome demo cassette, plus an even better
7" EP, and is known for their knock-out live performances. |
 |
BLACK CRUCIFIXION - "promethean gift"
(SOUL SELLER) - 12e, 720 den.
The album sounds like BATHORY, CELTIC FROST, SAMAEL, BEHERIT
("Drawing Down The Moon"), TIAMAT (in the early days) and
NECROMANTIA. Deep vocals that in some points reminded me of Johan
Edlund?s voice at the masterpiece called "Clouds", heavy
doom-ish riffs and dark atmosphere. It is a mid tempo album with some
outbursts especially by the drums. Here we are dealing with eight
tracks that stood the test of time more than well. Of course the sound
of the two demo songs doesn?t have the quality of the first five,
but conveys a truly dark atmosphere. |
 |
BOMBENALARM - "buried alive" (UNSOCIABLE)
- 10e
This record is awesomely beautiful with its magnificent gatefold cover
artwork. The music is pretty much the same as on their debut 7"
- raw punk with a d-beat edge, maybe a bit less raw and more elaborate.
The lyrics are codeswitching between german and english just as they
please and the lead guitars howl like werewolfs getting kicked in
the balls.
All in all their music now is not complete raging like there was no
tomorrow but quite often also generates some sort of end of days melancholy
finding expression in midtempo parts with harmonys. |
 |
BOMBENALARM - "no mistakes"
(UNSOCIABLE) - 10e
Unsociable Records (Germany) / No Option Records (USA)
Bombenalarm play hc/punk with diverse influences, a lot of power,
outstanding vocals, and raging guitar leads. This is their second
full length, which encompasses the power they have as a band with
precision and depth more fully than any of their previous releases.
Awesome recording and great artwork by these German punx. 11 tracks
destined for glory, and many circle pits. |
 |
BURMESE/ POTOP - split (FUCK
YOGA, CRUCIFICADOS PELO SISTEMA) - 10e
BURMESE offer 8 ugly tracks of noise; ranging from damaged rock to
primitive grind bursts, sadistic power electronics and cold, haunting
drones; a claustrophobic amalgamation of frequencies akin to MAN IS
THE BASTARD, BRAINBOMBS and WHITEHOUSE.
tectonic grooves, blackened guitars and hellish screams make for POTOP's
side. primitive and crippled doom metal, been compared to BURNING
WITCH, KHANATE and power violence without the fast parts. heavy stuff
for real.
17 minutes from each band//pressing of 500 hand numbered copies//comes
inside a black dj sleeve//2 sided screen-printed covers on heavy 700
gr. paper//obi strip and insert. |
 |
BURST UP/ THRASH BRIGADE - split (STRESS
TO DEATH) - 8.5e
milan's fastcore maniacs vs palermo's power violence worshippers |
|
BURIAL YEAR - "pestilence"
(ADAGIO830) - 9e, 550 den.
Driven by the same ravenous hate and bloodthirsty brutality of Discordance
Axis and Assuck, Burial Year are paving a new path straight through
the filthy depths of today's decaying hardcore and metal compost pile.
Pestilence is the most challenging and technical album Burial Year's
members have released to date, featuring a rhythmic heavy foundation,
complex metallic riffing, and politically charged words. Burial Year
is a combination of hardcore mentality and metal brutality. "Pestilence"
will surely please the ears of even the most X'ed up and beer soaked
Reebok high top wearing thrasher. |
|
CEREBRAL TURBULENCY - "impenetrable"
(INSANE SOCIETY) - 9e. 550 den.
"Third full length Cd album from these Czech girnders! 26
totally fast brutal blast-core grind tunes with guttural vocals. CT
music is definetly inspired by Nasum and Napalm Death type grind.
Czech leaders of grind scene along with Ingrowing, Negligent Collateral
Collapse, Gride, Malignant Tumour, and Alienation Metal."
(Violence Zine #4) |
|
COBRA NOIR - "barricades"
(YELLOW DOG) - 9e, 550 den.
This hardcore quintet plays gnarled and discordant hardcore,
sounding as dark and brooding as ever. Lyrically, it's a dredging
bleak landscape for remnants of hope. Musically it's metallic hardcore
that is not unlike earlier projects such as THE BLACK HAND. These
eight new tracks continue their sinisterly dark sounding assault of
heavy drudging hardcore. |
 |
COLERA - "alguien..." (DIY CONSPIRACY)
- 7.5e
political hardcore punk rock |
 |
CORRUPTED - "paso inferior" (ADAGIO830)
- 10e
japanese doom |
 |
CRIME DESIRE - s/t (LIFE IS RAPE) - 12e
Take the slow songs off classic '80s hardcore records, mix with the
doom and gloom of early goth, throw in heavy doses of Samhain and
even a hint of Integrity, then watch too many cult exploitation movies
and top the whole mess off with bleak misanthropic and satanic lyrical
themes and you might come up with something that sounds a bit like
Crime Desire's latest outing. The new LP is an unrepentantly midpaced,
plodding, dark hardcore record with huge production and the attention
to great packaging and design you've come to expect from a Crime Desire
record. |
 |
CROM - "hot sumerian nights" (BLIND
DATE) - 10e
Yes this is the well known PowerViolence band from Los Angeles / US.
Beside Despise You, Stapled Shut, Spazz, Apt. 213 etc. CROM was one
of the most important genre-band in the 90’s. In 2008 CROM is
back on vinyl with even more powerful doom/sludge/grind metalsongs
and again they prove their good sense of humour. Vinyl Edition is
limited to 370 copies. All copies with leaflet and Crom sticker !!
250 copies in black and 120 copies in white vinyl and handnumbered
as always. |
|
CZOZNEK -" Illegal pornography
with abuse of children, animals and plants" (NNNW) - 8e, 500
den. |
 |
DANSE MACABRE - "synkopenleben..."
(REACT WITH PROTEST) - 9e, 550 den.
A huge step for these guys in comparison to the earlier stuff! Great
layout, production and well written songs. DANSE MACABRE deliver screamy
chaotic hardcore with a lot of power and moody parts, it reminds me
of some bands in this genre which have been around a couple of years
ago, but they still manage to create something all their own. Comes
with a foldout nice booklet/poster with lyrics and explanations! |
 |
DESPISE YOU - "west side horizons"
(FUCK YOGA) - 10e
62 Songs of complete power violence, from Inglewood, CA. They were
one of the best ultrafast, uncompromising power violence units during
the mid-’90’s. Compiling their various splits, comp tracks
and the sixteen otherwise unreleased numbers kindly compiled by Pessimiser
for the original CD release. The result is a barrage of bleak-as-fuck,
metal-tinged powerviolence that’s heavy, thick-necked and cruel
as all hell, each violent outburst neatly condensed into short, emetic
bouts of soul-flattening rage that manage to be both inventive and
memorable despite their vicious brevity.
vinyl release limited to 500 copies; comes with a gatefold cover,
including a lyric sheet (previously unavailable) |
 |
DISARM - "mustard gas" (STRESS
TO DEATH) - 8.5e
Hitting the scene since 1996, italian power(metal)violence at its
full length-debut after 5 split 7”’s. Think about Hellnation,
Destroy, Lack of Interest, Merciless, Yacopsae but with a very strong
political attitude. Lyrics are an historical excursus about the use
of the so called mustard gas since WWI. Featuring Borys/Agipunk-Giuda.
Limited edition 500 copies!! |
 |
DROWN IN BLOOD - s/t (IfMH) - 10e
Here it is! The debut-album of DROWN IN BLOOD! The Metal-Punks from
Hamburg did their first vinyl-release. Until now they only did a sold-out
demotape and some compilation tracks. And they played a lot of concerts
during the last years. The band exists since 2003 and has a political
background. At the beginning they played death metal with crust influences.
But now they developed more into metal with melodic parts in the vein
of Bolt Thrower. But there are still unmistakable elements of crust,
punk, HC and grind in the bandsound. The bandmembers play in some
other bands like Instinct Of Survival. |
|
DRUGS OF FAITH - s/t (FAST
AND FURIOUS) - 9e, 550 den.
From the musical battleground of Northern Virginia, in the
shadow of Washington DC, the power trio that is Drugs Of Faith breaks
out with their debut official release. Drugs Of Faith, founded by
an Enemy Soil original member, bashes through its hardcore rock fused
with grindcore songs utilizing dissonant chords and opposition bass,
frontal attack drums, and lyrics covering the personal as well as
the political landscape brought out by dynamic vocals. Focused yet
a challenge to categorize, Drugs Of Faith carpet bombs the listener
with its innovative, stylistic mix. Mastered by Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer
/ Agoraphobic Nosebleed) at Visceral Sound. |
|
EMPTY SILOS ECHO WAR - "semantics"
(ROKLOK) - 9e, 550 den.
The full length vinyl companion piece to the "Mechanics"
CD is a sonic exploration in lingering melodies, textural soundscapes
and the extrapolation of minimalistic song structures. For fans of
godspeed! you black emperor! Awesome hand screened covers in variety
of different colors. |
 |
EARTHRIDE - "taming of the demons"
(DOOMENTIA) - 13e, 800 den.
PURE MARYLAND DOOM FOR THE BROTHERHOOD OF MUSIC! Earthride
are a another incredible band from the Doom Capitol / Maryland, the
fertile breeding ground that has spawned: Hidden Hand, Pentagram,
Internal Void, Wretched, Iron Man, Unorthodox, and Spirit Caravan.
In fact, theres connections to some of these bands, drummer Eric Little
was in Internal Void, and singer Dave Sherman was in Wretched and
also played bass in Spirit Caravan(along with sharing vocal duties
with Wino). The Earthride sound is a brutal combination of Sherms'
whiskey burned, Lemmy's esque vokill strain wrecked into a punishing
mountain of doom. One listen to the mammoth wall of guitar that Kyle
Van Steinburg blankets over the concrete rhythm section and its obvious
that Earthride holds their own. The band played many shows in support
of this album including opening for High On Fire, Superjoint Ritual,
Nebula, Clutch, Pentagram, Earth, sunn0))), Mastodon and many others.
Southern Lord released the debut from Earthride: Taming of the Demons
in May 2002 as CD version only. This album was re-released by Doomentia
Records as vinyl version for the first time ever. PIC LP / one-time
pressing of 500 copies / jacket with die-cut / insert. |
 |
EASPA MEASA/ SILENCE - split (DIY CONSPIRACY)
- 7.5e
Silence is a heavy and dark hardcore punk with depressive and at times
angry lyrics. These lads were influenced by the likes of Madame Germen,
From Ashes Rise or His Hero is Gone. Easpa Measa play dark melodic
crust with female/male vocals influenced by Jobbycrust and Thin Lizzy
Lyrically they do not avoid difficult social issues and do not forget
where they are coming from. |

EXHALE - "ends
in a" (SUNNY SINDICUT) - 6.5e, 400 den. |
|
FORENSICS - "hogback
mountain sessions Vol.1" (TUNED TO YOU) - 9e, 550 den.
The Hogback Mountain Sessions are impromptu gatherings of members
of Forensics and various friends/guests for the sole purpose of improvised
studio experimentation and composition. Results of the gatherings
are documented in limited edition CD's (all on Magic Bullet) and 12"
format (on different labels with each session). The first installment
of this ongoing series, Vol. 1 finds the musicians laying down 4 tracks/23
minutes of dark and chilling passages atop subharmonic and drone elements
that prove far more listenable and melodious than grating or monotonous.
! Moving and sober, the maiden voyage of the Hogback Mountain Sessions
is but a tease of what is to come from 2005's most ambitious band. |
|
FUBAR - "justification
of criminal behavious" (TVG) - 9e, 550 den.
Fastcore, grindcore, power violence, hardcore all the same to me and
definitely all the same to this Dutch hardcore bands. Mash all those
styles into one battering ram piece of orange wax and you have 21
mallets to the head, bathed in down-tuned mud. The bass sounds like
tanks rolling into town, he guitars echo fighter jets dropping their
wares on the population below. Two vocalists battle it out for Throat-Coat
supremacy, with one a deep grindcore growler and the other sounding
like Pat Dubar of all things. This really reminds me of insuld sometimes,
but where that band reveled in bitter humor. Fubar portray a world
strangled by fear and hypnotized by war. |
 |
GNAW THEIR TONGUES - "an epiphanic vomiting
of blood" (BURNING WORLD) - 12e
“My body is not a vessel, nor a temple. It’s a repulsive
pile of sickness.” That’s a fitting title for the first
song of Gnaw Their Tongues maniacal An Epiphanic Vomiting of Blood.
Their soundtrack-to-Hell opus begins with a full orchestra of strings
and horns, an opera singer, as well as standard rock band instrumentation.
This isn’t spooky funeral doom, this is terrifying shit blood
doom. From there Mories (the stage name of the Dutch solo artist)
moves on to “Teeth That Leer Like Open Graves,” a track
with banshee vocals and vocal samples of a serial killer’s matter
of fact testimony. A lot of the tracks sound like Khanate reformed
and decided to collaborate with the San Francisco Symphony. The music
is so noisy that it requires insanely loud volumes to pick out the
myriad scratches and noises. There are a few moments of reprieve on
“The Sewer Rats of Calcutta”; children’s choirs
and Theremins will always be silly. An Epiphanic Vomiting of Blood
was originally a vinyl only release. Crucial Blast’s repackaging
includes new artwork and a bonus track, “The Urge to Participate
in Butchery,” just in case your suspension from hooks sessions
need scored for an additional eight and a half minutes. Gnaw Their
Tongues may just be the most terrifying doom band to date. |
|

pushes the boundaries of the burgeoning cinema-grind genre, imploding

colonialism and psychotic delusion. Greyskull emerges as an incredibly
pissed and informed book that you can't put down. Contained in an
amazing backpack suitable for any school, church, or funeral event. |

Featuring members of Look Back and Laugh and Lights Out, and hailing
from the land of the Raiders and A's (aka Oakland, CA) comes Never
Healed. Siege like vocals mixed with music falling somewhere between
Citizens Arrest and Tragedy. A favorite around the Parts Unknown HQ,
they also throw a sick live show. Throw on your THIZZ face and GO
DUMB over this shit. |

NIGHTMARE - "scatterraw"
(HATE) - 9e, 550 den.
Brand new recordings from Japanese HC legends NIGHTMARE!
many of you may know them from the early Selfish records stuff...
or the Bloodsucker eps. Anyhow, here we have 8 songs recorded at OUR
HOUSE studio in Tokyo. Blazing HC mixed with some Stooges-esque guitars.
Also no saxaphone on this recording. Great stuff. |
|
NO! - "relax" (TSUNAMI)
- 9e, 550 den.
Face melting high velocity thrash duo from the dirty south. Similar
in sound to a manic schizophrenic being sucked into a vortex of a
hardcore/grind tornado. Sure to leave your head spinning in one dose.
This record is available on white wax, and limited to 500 copies. |

NOARMSNOLEGS - "the
sodomy of sound" (LIMBLESS) - 9e, 550 den.
Noaramsnolegs gives you a frenzied mix of frantic vocals, melodic
heavy guitars, and fast drumming. Their sound is heavily influenced
by both the modern screamo and classic metal-core styles, as this
record punishes and tears with each song. It is a long 4 song, one-sided
12" that is silk screened on colored vinyl. |

OCEAN CHIEF/ KONGH - split LP (LAND O' SMILES)
- 12e, 720 den. |
|
OFFICER JONES AND HIS PATROL CAR PROBLEMS
- "memorial" (SHOVE) - 8.5e, 500 den. |
|
ON THE MIGHT OF THE PRINCESS
"where you are and where you want to be" (TRAFFIC VIOLATION)
- 10e, 600 den.
50 minutes of musical mayhem from this Long Island based powerhouse.
Crazy screaming emo/hardcore that's all over the map. |

PACK/ S.O.L. - split (DIY
CONSPIRACY) - 9e, 550 den.
Split album from the gods of crust. Pack comes from Schrottbar, Biel/Switzerland
and S.O.L. from Zoro, Leipzig/Germany. Most interesting crust album
for ages! "Holy Shit! This fucking split tears it up. Pack comes
from Switzerland and play blazing fast d-beat hardcore with superb
breakdowns with duel vocals with what sounds like a little distortion
on them. S.O.L. comes out of Germany playing a similar style as Pack
but with a bit more a metal edge and is fucking amazing. Both of these
bands sound tight as hell and with great recording quality and song
writing. This split LP comes in a cool gatefold sleeve with silver
foil stamp on the cover. |

PIG DESTROYER - "painter of dead
girls" - 11e
grindcore |
|
POOSTEW - "struggle" (SHOVE) -
8.5e, 500 den. |
|
PURE EVIL TRIO - "this
is our music" (APPLIANCE AND CARS) - 8.5e, 500 den.
The album is one noisy beast, with a load of bone-quaking low-end
sound. The Pure Evil Trio make quite a gruesome racket. The album
borrows its artwork from the Ornette Coleman album of the same name
and is dedicated to the famous quartet, and they share the same contemporaneous
disregard for popular taste. |

RACEBANNON/ SONGS OF ZARATHUSTRA
- split (LEVEL PLANE) - 10e, 600 den.
Racebannon continues to push the boundaries of form and structure
with their four tracks collected here. Electronically altered soundscapes
are interspersed amongst frantic bursts of more traditional song structures,
featuring vocalist Mike Anderson’s typically snotty delivery;
enigmatic music illustrating an enigmatic age. Song of Zarathustra
come correct with a little bit more of a straightforward approach,
infusing their chaotic hardcore assault with more elements of rock,
recalling a Blood Brothers free of posturing and inundated with guitar
and keyboard attacks. |
