	KYKLOOPPIEN SUKUPUUTTO/ DEATH TOKEN - split (HATE) - 3.5e, 200 den. "What can you say about this split. First off it is a dynamite pairing between two very different but both amazing hardcore bands. And both bands deliver on the recordings with loads of songs and of great fuckin’ quality. KYKLOOPPIEN SUKUPUUTTO start out the split with three new songs. This is the band’s third vinyl release and they just keep getting better. KYKLOOPPIEN SUKUPUUTTO hail from the city of Tampere in Finland, the city of hardcore legends. This city has produced such great bands as KAAOS, RIISTETYT, PROTESTI, BASTARDS, VARAUS, and KOHU-63 to name a few. And although KYKLOOPPIEN SUKUPUUTTO follow in that same tradition the band sounds remarkably like a Swedish band the RAPED TEENAGERS. KYKLOOPPIEN SUKUPUUTTO has that same quirky sound played at a million miles a minute. It’s like a cross between VICTIM’S FAMILY and early HERESY. It’s not unlistenable like John Zorn. The band comes out charging at a whirlwind pace playing some of the fastest hardcore. And unlike so many of those bands that work on precision KYKLOOPPIEN SUKUPUUTTO play fairly wreckless that just adds the right amount of punk character to the sound. KYKLOOPPIEN SUKUPUUTTO offer up three new songs that start out with a track called “Tampere Wreck City”, which starts out with feedback like an UMLAUT record and quickly gets in a chaotic hardcore charge. It’s hardcore chaos incarnate. On the flipside we get four new tracks from Copenhagen’s DEATH TOKEN. They are no novices to releasing material and have at least two other releases under their belt. Their intro starts out with a casio organ that sounds like the CRASS “Merry Crassmas” ep. The band quickly dispenses with the cheeseball intro for a hardcore crescendo that works into an onslaught of hardcore that I have not heard since the likes of BOXED IN or RUIN. This band is a hardcore wrecking ball of DROP DEAD meets C.O.C. meets CUT THE SHIT. Their side is one flurry of hardcore madness. This is no funeral music unless it is for the system. You couldn’t do much better than to pick up this scandi pairing of Finland versus Denmark. There are no losers with this split."

Screaming its way into your subconscious, armed with a volatile array of guitar riffs and pounding drums, Lords have unleashed a monstrous display of hardcore punk that needs to be taken with caution."

LOSER LIFE comes from a place called Bakersfield, California, an area the band has numerously described as “the armpit of California”. This is what LOSER LIFE is influenced by and the band's sound makes their pleasant description seem all too realistic. LOSER LIFE is dirty, grimy, filthy and fucking pissed off at their little hole in the world and the world in general. They play music with a glass half-empty feeling with a glass overflowing the brim spirit.

Torrential waves of guitar distortion blast as vocals shout and swirl through the burning chaos, fueled by rapid fire drumming and thundering bass charges. This San Francisco band makes an explosive combination of Japanese-styled noisy hardcore ( KURO, GAI, CONFUSE, DISCLOSE) and heavy early 80's Finnish Hardcore influences - ( KAAOS, BASTARDS, KANSAN UUTISET ), with lyrics sung entirely in Japanese by a Tokyo Transplant and Japanese- American.
	NAKATOMI PLAZA/ LATTERMAN - split (ROKLOK) - 2.5e, 150 den. "This was a fun record to do for a few reasons. First off it was collaborative effort between us, BD Records and Sot Records. And secondly it featured two of my favorite bands who summed up the beauty of modern DIY punk at the time. Nakatomi Plaza who played dynamic emotion filled indie punk rock that always reminded me of bands like Knapsack and Small but I'm an old geek so I guess Braid would be a more hip reference. And those kids in Latterman have always made me giddy with their posi themed tunes about friendship and smiling. Who cares if people thought they sounded like a happy Hot Water Music? Leading the charge are two gruff tracks by Greek punks DYSPNEA who have a primitive DIS-crust sound of early DOOM with a hint of HELLKRUSHER. NAKOT from Serbia also play powerful crust and their three tracks have fast, Scandi-thrash influence (think early HIATUS). This is a top quality EP that will get played over and over again - a rare accomplishment these days!

This analog duo uses keyboards, loops, and samples to create a hypnotic soundscape that is frightenly mind bending. Distorted keyboards and eerie piano tap into the resources of your subconcious, while looped samples derived from earth's and man's own nature, are masterfully woven throughout. For the uninitiated, Pigeon Religion plays a Flipper/Birthday Party style drone that only the sun bleached landscape of Arizona could produce. Harsh feedback and uncomfortable riffs conjure up images of abandoned meth labs and blood stained dumpsters, those that have witnessed there live performances can attest to the disturbing atmosphere that Pigeon Religion can create.

	PRF - "we got disease" (DEAD KIDS) - 3.5e, 200 den. Following up to their LP from last year PRF new 7" brings us 6 songs of young nihilism in the form of 80's hardcore punk. This Portland band rules!
	PROJECT HOPELESS - s/t (NOT ENOUGH) - 2.5e, 150 den. Project Hopeless from Sweden with their 2nd 7" recorded '02, but I tell you it could just a well have been recorded in '85. I needed a few listens to appreciate this 'cause at first it just sounded like some mediocre raw punk. But I've gotten to like their unpolished "Really Fast vol. 1-4" era råpunk. I'm still not 100% convinced though. Some more variety between the songs would do the band good. And the two vocalists should make a few adjustments as far as I'm concerned, they're a little too screamy/dark. Other than that this is a fine release.

	RAVEN'S CREED/ SOLLUBI - split (HYDROPHONIC) - 5e, 300 den. RAVENS CREED is an amazing band featuring members of IRON MONKEY, ORANGE GOBLIN and SABBAT. This is for those who remember and loved the early crossover era of HC/metal of the mid 1980’s… think DRI’s "Crossover” meets Slayer’s “Reign in Blood”, with modern twists on the style. These are the final releases of the line-up featuring Ben Ward of ORANGE GOBLIN on vocals. Recorded on-the-fly in their personal home studio, these tracks have a decidedly LO-FI sound that captures the band an interesting transitional phase. SOLLUBI is an eastern US sludge group comprised of members of FISTULA, PENNCONN, RAPE X, ACCEPT DEATH, and BLACKWELL. Sollubi’s track is a down tempo, slow burning, grisly, sonic punishment with a hint of psychedelic redemption!

Play it on 45 rpm! Side A opens with a haunting drum beat echoing a hellish drone and joined with curdled, monotonous grunts, so distorted that one message becomes clear: It is coming from the seediest pits of hell! Tracks like this should replace the phony 'scary' soundtracks of alien videogames like Doom and Halo. Try to imagine a lawnmower running over a high school marching band stuck in a pit of tar, sluggish and sticky but constant in its carnage. No samples were used on the album, and lyrics accompany the 7 inch insert.
	SCAPEGOAT - s/t (PAINKILLER) - 5e, 300 den. Debut 10 song ep from this new Boston band. Taking the best elements from Infest, Crossed Out, Manpig and the likes and adding a heavy dose of youthful energy and aggression. Third pressing with non-poster sleeve.
	SEASICK - "ennui" (REFUSE) - 3.5e, 200 den. Straight out of New Brunswick, NJ, SEASICK have worked hard to carve out a thick solid chunk of respect within the hardcore punk community. They pack a socially relevant punch that will make you question the world around you as well as the face reflected in your mirror. Philosophical lyrics filtered through the human element are backed by dead stop breakdowns and a neck snapping rhythm that will move you if you have a pulse. Their unique style, which is influenced by such former NJ bands as Endeavor, The Degenerics and Tear It Up, gets together in a flawless fury that truly carries it's own weight.
